Kimbal L. Wheatley, PhD

Kim Wheatley designs and implements strategies and methods to move people toward the outcomes they desire. 

From 1985 to 2005, he co-founded and was Chairman of Option Technologies Interactive, LLC (OTI), a services company that focused on the use of technology to enhance face-to-face meeting outcomes. During this period, he was involved in the design and/or facilitation of processes in hundreds of meetings and learned their dynamics in the real world.

Before OTI, Kim spent seven years in academia teaching psychology, then another seven as a hospital administrator. In his work with OTI, he became renowned for his ability to think through and design effective meetings and processes to achieve client outcomes. Often he facilitated these processes and just as often he designed them for others to facilitate.

For the past 11 years Kim has worked with the senior leadership of a big four accounting consultancy to design and deliver their global partner meetings held throughout the world. He has served clients from very large and very small organizations across a spectrum of industries and cultures, private and public, for profit and not-for-profit. Kim often comes to be referred to as the “team psychologist” (and proud of it).

Kim holds doctorate and masters degrees in Psychology (both clinical and research) from the University of Colorado at Boulder. His ideas about facilitation are incorporated into the practices of some of the best facilitators in the world.
